Commercial whale watching in Australia began the day Brian and Jill Perry discovered whales in the calm pristine waters of Hervey Bay on the Fraser Coast of Queensland. Since that fateful day 23 years ago over a million people have been whale watching in Hervey Bay.Brian & Jill are celebrating 23 years of whale watching in Hervey Bay this year and are expecting a great whale watching season. Their vessel, Quick Cat II was designed in 2003 specifically with whale watching in mind for access for all. Wheelchairs and prams can easily maneuver around the main deck. The award-winning vessel has won over 20 awards including 10 Fraser Coast South Burnett Tourism Awards for Excellence, has been awarded Advanced Eco Tourism Accreditation and been entered into the Fraser Coast Hall of Fame for its achievements in the whale watching industry. Quick Cat II is the most awarded whale watching vessel in Australia.Quick Cat II whale watching cruises can be coupled with accommodations packages to suit all budgets. Whale watching tours operate twice daily during the season (mid July to early November) with home made muffins served for morning or afternoon tea.We added a new and exciting vessel to our fleet for the season beginning 2007, "thats Awesome", a new high speed RIB style vessel as an alternative to Quick Cat II."that's Awesome" does not offer wheelchair access.
