It is not possible to mass produce what we do here at Outer Island Surfboards.We believe that the style of each surfer is unique, like the fingerprint, like the DNA. The art of hand shaping is the alchemy of design science, combining elements of mind, foam, fibres and plastics, forged with psychic energy, turning an idea, a concept into reality, a spirit surfboard. Over many years since 1969, Mitchell has shaped for many famous surfers...Luke Egan, Kai Otton, Drew Courtney, Rasta, Parko, Derek Hynd, Rob Machado, to name but a few. Mitchell is shaping Adam Melling’s Hawaii quiver this year.However, our real aim is to create individual designs for soul surfing.... we cater to an international clientele of people who just love their surfing. Many book their once or twice a year surf trip to paradise, the outer islands, the surf adventure. We make strong, reliable boards that won't snap in the first week you get to a remote location.
