Salt Dish

When strolling along the picturesque Geraldton foreshore and taking in the ocean, detouring down Marine Terrace will carry hungry feet to the waiting Salt Dish café. A jolly frontage is presented to newcomers, with luscious green climbers, tiled benches and broad windows, while inside jade furnishings and vintage weathered timber abound. Retreating beach lovers and familiar locals come in for freshly baked cakes with a coffee, or seat themselves out back in the garden area, flush with astroturf and leaning plant life, for the two course set menu rife with Australian modernity. To start, be tempted by barbecued octopus and spicy chorizo, as an introduction to delicate pasta with saffron braised chicken, zucchini, chilli, pistachio, basil and Parmesan, ideally paired with a fine BYO drop.
