Highly qualified and experienced staff provide an individualised educational program that aims to meet the diverse needs of all children who attend the preschool. Subject to funding, special needs staff provide Early Intervention programs for children with additional needs. An inclusive curriculum aims to ensure that each child in the centre is fully involved in the program.
Educational programs are underpinned by the National Quality Framework which includes the Early Years Learning Framework. Staff embrace the concept of children being successful learners. Parents are encouraged to participate in the program by volunteering at the centre and communicating with staff the expectations for their child's learning. The children learn through play and interest based activities that are developmentally appropriate for each child's age. Each class has a day book where families can read about what the children have done during the day. An individual portfolio is provided for each child where staff document children's individual experiences and learning at the centre.
Our literacy program is designed to build on children's home and community literacy experiences and includes literacy practices that are relevant to children's everyday lives as well as familiar texts from their homes and communities.
