Clunes Out of School Hours Service: After School and Vacation Care has a strong child focus, which is underpinned by an inclusive play-based philosophy. The highly dedicated staff team are all qualified teachers with sound knowledge and understanding of how to plan and implement learning opportunities which are fun, educational and meaningful. The service has forged successful links with the local community and primary school it serves and attracts children from neighbouring villages. Located northeast of Lismore, the unique rural setting provides small group activities and one-to-one interactions, which allows each child to feel valued. This helps children develop confident self-identities and respond with respect and sensitivity to the needs of others. The children’s interests, abilities and ages are reflected in the services programs and routines, which educators regularly review and adapt in response to children’s interests and learning outcomes.
